A downloadable game for Windows

A young bear hopes to finally escape the mountainous shadow of fear cast by his small town Appalachian community over him, but has one final hurdle to clear before he can make his move for freedom.  But what starts as just a monotonous part of his job soon leads to the discovery of a decades-old mystery that persists just below the surface of the town, currently dormant and hidden away.  Unbeknownst to its citizens, an unforeseen event may be the catalyst to trigger disaster.  Can the truth be pieced together in time?

This is my first attempt at making a visual novel, and is a solo project.  This demo consists only of Day 1 .  I'm experimenting with mixing slice-of-life with mystery.  The routes will be the B plot, and may or may not result in an in-game relationship.  I'm also experimenting with letting certain instruments represent different characters in the background music, however this necessitates keeping the rhythms more simple, and may end up being too repetitive.  My hope is, once the routes branch out and the focus is more on the main two characters, that I can compose more intricate  music specifically using just those instruments, but let me know your thoughts!

For now, I'm planning on this being a linear visual novel, though as I grow more comfortable with the software, I may incorporate options in the future.

This demo is the result of three weeks of drawing sprites and backgrounds, one day of writing, and six days of learning the basics of and programming into Tyranobuilder.  I've only been drawing for about 4 months now, haven't written anything in many years, never took programming, and just know the basics of Garageband on iPad, so please adjust your expectations accordingly : )
